Moon Phases
This amazing 50-minute work by Francis Heery was inspired by Yeats’ A Vision. The result of many years of collaboration between Yeats and his wife Georgina, who would channel statements that purportedly came from a variety of spirits, A Vision was Yeats' genuine attempt to contribute to the tradition of occult literature. Moon Phases is an otherworldly soundscape, a vortex in which slow-shifting sinetone drones and insubstantial, uncanny instrumental sonorities slowly revolve.
The Mysteries Beyond Matter
In 2015, QME and Farpoint Recordings released their first CD together. It brought together four amazing pieces by David Toop, Pauline Oliveros, Alvin Lucier and John Godfrey in world premiere recordings, each written specifically for QME, and each an extraordinary and remarkable angle on QME’s unique aesthetic. QME explores the sinister resonances of late-night sound, astonishing psychoacoustic effects as tones slide glacially one against another, cloud-like sonorities conjured from extreme reverbs and the still poise of Laotian soundscapes tinted by spectral harmonies. These pieces are every bit as vital, engaging and inspiring as they were in 2015, and in this version remastered by one of Ireland’s most celebrated mastering engineers, Seán Mac Erlaine, their entrancing sonic worlds are all the more vivid, involving and intense.
This edition also features brand new cover and booklet artwork by Anthony Kelly, and updated texts by David Toop and John Godfrey.
